Wow, I haven't posted anything here in ten days! That's a long time. I've been better about that up until now, but I guess I've just been so busy that I haven't had time. I've been working hard on finishing up my first official audio book. I've recorded my own short stories and one novellette, but this is a full length novel called "A Life Worth Dreaming About," written by Nicholas Dettmann. The audio book will be for sale on Audible, Amazon, and in iTunes! I'm really excited about it and proud of my work. People say narrating an entire novel is like running a marathon and they're not kidding. I've been at it for a long time now, but it's been a blast and an awesome opportunity for me that I'm very grateful for.
I finished recording the last of the audio tonight. I'm very relieved but also a bit sad that it's over. I still have several hours of editing to do to finish up the last four chapters, but the performance part of this project is over. I have been having so much fun recording Nicholas's novel! I love acting out the characters' lines and reading all the narrator parts. It is just as fun as I've always dreamed it would be. I have always wanted to get into acting but never found the time for it. I've also been a huge fan of audio books for several years now, listening to tons of them as I commute for 2 hours a day each weekday. My love for books and reading and audio books lead me to follow my dream and upload some samples to ACX. ACX stands for Audiobook Creation Exchange. It's an Amazon company bringing authors and narrators together to make audio books. Pretty cool right? So now I'm an audio book narrator, and I plan to keep narrating more titles until I'm too old to press the record button. This is just too fun.
I was fortunate enough to find work almost right away. I was surprised. Nicholas told me in a message that his wife thought my voice would fit his novel well. I'm so thankful and I hope it really brings the book to life in a new way for them. I sure had fun reading it, and I hope you'll look for it and have some fun listening to it once it hits all the digital bookshelves.
Thanks for stopping by!
